Remember Memorial Day weekend when Sergio went off against Denver?
An even closer inspection indicates that the five goals came over a span of 5:57 in clock time. That would be an amazing accomplishment by a team (especially at the NCAA national semifinal level, against a team that ultimately won the title), much less for an individual.
Video of the 4th quarter performance and a full Perkovic article from ND website. Video is a must watch. These shots are released from hell.

On October 20th of 2014, we wondered if Perkovic could become a better passer than Paul Rabil based on Perkovic’s 1 goal 6 assist performance against Team USA in a fall scrimmage. How did that prediction work out?
Rabil Assist Numbers
Freshman year: 14 assists, high of 4 against Marist in NCAA first round
Sophomore year: 13 assists, high of 2 four times, .92 per game
Junior year: 26 assists, high of 5 against Duke in NCAA national Championship perhaps the best game of his career, 1.52 per game
Senior year: 14 assists, high of 4 against Princeton in regular season, .82 per game
Perkovic Assist Numbers
Freshman year: 5 assists, .27 per game
Sophomore year: 7 assists, .46 per game, season high 2 against Georgetown and Marquette
Perhaps the fall prediction was a touch ambitious. Perhaps Perkovic doesn’t carry the ball in the ND offense as much as Rabil did for Hopkins. Perhaps when you shoot as hard Perkovic there’s no reason to pass the ball.
