MCLA Tournament Prep: Georgia Tech

Getting you dialed in for the MCLA’s end of year event.

Team: Georgia Tech

Conference: SELC

Seed: 11, at large

Projected Seed: 10

1st Round Opponent: Westminster

Record Against Tournament Teams: 0-1, lost to Virginia Tech

Odds of Winning: 80 to 1

Player to Watch: Georgia Tech’s leading scorer Brian Connolly stalled in the SELC tournament recording only 2 assists against Liberty and being held off the score sheet against Virginia Tech. Fellow attackman Christopher O’Brien only chipped in 1 assist against VT. Combined the duo are responsible for 121 points. A quiet outing from the pair will result in a first round exit. Fortunately for Tech, Westmisnter’s defense isn’t as talented as what VT dresses on game day.

Tech defense is allowing 5.17 goals per game. Only twice did they allow ten goals. Unfortunately, they’ll have to keep Westminster’s offense, scoring 14.29 goals per game, at bay without talented LSM Chris Bush who was injured in the SELC tournament.

What a great year for Georgia Tech and SELC. Both Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech enter the national tournament with a combined record of 32-1. The Virginia Tech beat Georgia Tech in the SELC tournament final. A first round win for GT would surely boost the conference on the national scene.
