Since the MCLA consists of club teams, many of whom do not have administrative assistance from the school, do you feel that each conference should play a role in helping teams find viable candidates that match the aspirations of each program? Should the MCLA feel the responsibility to standardize (even if in a very minor fashion) the application and hiring process of coaches? It seems to me that for many teams dealing with the hiring and firing of coaches, the players handling it are doing this for the first time and it can be a valuable professional experience; what better way to support the teams in your conference than to offer consultation with these difficult decisions with the understanding that many colleges aren’t so interested in club sports.
