In freezing rain and snowy conditions, the No. 13 Cornell men’s lacrosse team upset No. 8 Albany at SMU’s Ford Field in Dallas at the seventh annual Patriots Cup. After trailing 3-1 midway through the first quarter, the Big Red went on a 10-2 run to take control of the game en-route to the decisive victory.
Tough break traveling to Dallas and still having to play in the cold.
Connor Buczek decided to have an afternoon. He tallied 5 markers and helped on another. Buczek now has 15 goals 3 assists for the 3-1 Big Red who have averaged 16.33 goals a game since their 6 goal performance in a loss to Syracuse. Buczek scored three times against Cuse.
Lyle Thompson was a little more subdued with 2 and 2.
